Wine tasting Dinners

We are very excited to be reviving our wine tasting dinners this Spring and to be offering these great wines as exclusive agents. Working with Robert and Connie at The Dove and Nick at Brasted’s will provide fine treats in convivial surroundings.

Thursday May 3rd £37.50 - 12 lighter wines for the Spring season featuring Waimarie Estate wines made by Stephen Nobilo, 3rd generation winemaker from the famous wine family. Includes 3-course dinner with wine and tutored tasting.

Our first consignment of Waimarie wines arrived towards the end of last year and was an immediate success. New Zealand is well known for its strict regulation of the quality of exported wines, so with this and Stephen's pedigree we were expecting good stuff, but frankly we were blown away with what we tasted. Fresh, clean, flavourful, while avoiding the overpowering caricature wines that sometimes come from NZ. Stephen Nobilo’s grandfather started growing grapes in New Zealand in 1943. Stephen was immersed in the family business until its sale to BRL Hardy in 2000, at which point he started up Waimarie wines.

The Dove Restaurant, run by Robert and Connie Oberhoffer, specializes in classic French country-style cuisine, producing unpretentious dishes from quality ingredients. The restaurant has a cheerful atmosphere and a fine view from their terrace area. Robert is the 5th generation chef in the family, his great-grandfather came to Britain from Alsace in 1912. 2 AA Rosettes.

Thursday June 21st £60.00 - 9 wines from our new Burgundy Estate: Domaine Bohrmann with Sofie Bohrmann, including her spectacular sparklers. The evening comprises presentation of the Domaine, tasting, canapes, sparkling wine reception and 3-course dinner with wines.

Domaine Bohrmann was created in 2002 by Sofie, who hails from Belgium. Being young and foreign gave her much to prove in the Burgundian world, but the quality of her wines combined with her bubbly personality and confident presentation have ensured a fine reputation. We have been struck by the elegance and depth of the wines we have tasted - low yields have much to do with this - and by her white and rose Cremants de Bourgogne.

Brasted's is renowned in Norfolk with numerous awards under its belt. Local produce is used to create classic English dishes, but with a European twist. Nick Mills and his team promise a grand evening in a bright, open atmosphere. 2 AA Rosettes.
